Robin Southby is a musician and composer based in Sheffield, UK. As a founding member, guitarist and primary songwriter of critically acclaimed post-rock band Maybeshewill, he has played a pivotal role in shaping the band's distinctive, emotive sound since forming in 2005.
Maybeshewill’s “towering, cinematic instrumental music” has seen over 30 million streams on Spotify, radio play on BBC 6 Music, Radio 1 and Kerrang! Radio, and garnered the band a devoted fanbase across the globe. Over the years they have embarked on international tours in Europe, Asia, the USA, and Australia, including sold-out performances at legendary venues such as KOKO in London. The band were hand-picked by Robert Smith of The Cure to perform at the 2018 edition of Meltdown Festival at Southbank Centre.
In addition to his work with Maybeshewill, Robin also writes music for media. His production music tracks have been featured in film trailers for Warner Bros, advertisements for prominent brands like JBL, Emirates and HSBC, as well as television shows such as Married at First Sight Australia, The Great American Recipe, Outback Truckers, and Celebrity Come Dine With Me.
Robin’s music has been used in the soundtracks of Netflix shows including Selling Sunset, The Gift (Atiye), The One, How to Become a Tyrant and How to Become a Cult Leader. He has also written bespoke tracks for BT Sport and Disney.
